April, 2008

Greeting in the name of our precious Lord Jesus who encourages us to continue to do the deaf ministry here in Venezuela.

We are now looking for a place for the Deaf church somewhere in Caracas as we have to move out by April 30, 2008. We ask you to pray to hurry up to find a place.

How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! .. Romans 10:15.

Last Dec. 31, 2007, our Deaf people got together for a service of all night with serving hallacas (something like tamale which was a special food for Venezuela) as a tradition on Christmas and New Year Eve every year. We had a special Christian movie which helped us to meditate on the Lord with testimonies and songs.

Pastor Oswaldo and Gricel Gomez (a deaf couple) had a 7th anniversary in their Deaf church in San Juan de Los Morros, including other churches joining together to celebrate. Pastor Eduardo Perdomo preached on their special day on Jan. 20 about being born again believers.

There was a National Convention of Assemblies of God (hearing) in Merida, Venezuela, on Jan. 22-24. Jose, Yamelith, Oswaldo and Eduardo Perdomo presented about the new SADVEN 2,000 pastors from all around Venezuela for approval (Sordos Asambleas de Dios de Venezuela). SADVEN is a new organization for the Deaf of Assemblies of God.

Jose and Yamileth Ojeda, as a pastor of Maracay, had a special 2nd anniversary, and Pastor Samuel Rodriguez (hearing) preached to about 104 deaf who were present from different Deaf churches. Samuel Rodriguez is the General Director for World Missions. Rev. Eliodoro Mora is the President of National Assemblies of God of Venezuela. They both gave 100 Bibles to the Deaf for free.

For the first time, Brazil invited Jose and his wife, Yamileth, and Oswaldo to preach in their country, including 300 deaf from nine different Deaf churches and 200 interpreters last March 1825. In Brazil, there is no Deaf Assemblies of God pastor. But there are Deafpastors from Venezuela, and they were very impressed to see that the Deaf can be a pastor. Praise the Lord!!!

We were so excited to have a service on March 21 on Friday afternoon to wash deaf people's feet as Lord Jesus did to his disciples. They were touched of being humble to wash their feet. We praised God that 27 were presented, and 3 hearing children of deaf parents asked us to wash their feet. It was a blessing for us to wash their feet.

May the Lord bless you to remember us in your prayer, and thank you for the support for their ministry.

Please stop all you are doing right now, and pray for the needs in these countries.   Pray for God to provide everything they need and pray for His guidance, wisdom and protection over these missionaries.   Pray that the people here will understand the gospel of Jesus Christ, and have an opportunity to say "Yes" to Him, and be saved.
